2019 Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills

Outdoor Leader Skills Training helps a leader learn the instruction method behind teaching the skills that Scouts will need to master on their way to the First Class Rank. This is a fun, hands-on skills training in the outdoors, designed to help you master basic camp skills. Instructors will help you learn how to set up camp, cook, work with wood tools, knots, planning campfire programs, map reading, compass skills, hiking and packing techniques, nature identification, and outdoor ethics. Each session will bring to life the pages of the Scout Handbook to help you deliver the promise of Scouting to yourself and the youth in your unit.
This training completes the required outdoor education component for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters, and is useful for all Scouts BSA Leaders
