Miami Valley Council 100th Anniversary Camporee

Join us for our Council Camporee celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Miami Valley Council. This event is for Scouting youth who are aged 5 to 21 and their adults and/or registered Scout leaders. This is the capstone event of our 100th celebration and there will be a variety of Scouting experiences for Scouts of all ages.

Every person attending the Camporee must complete a waiver per Five Rivers MetroParks.  Unit Contacts for each unit or family attending is asked to drop off the signed waivers to the Council Office no later than Monday, April 29.  Please add your Unit Type and Number to each form. How does a Scout receive free admission to the camporee from their $850+ in popcorn sales?
Dylan Melling emailed each unit’s popcorn kernel in January.  Scouts receiving free admission to the camporee need to be pre-registered by February 15th; Dylan will add the credit before the Feb. 28th deadline for payment (just make a payment for the amount for the other Scouts and Dylan will make sure the credit is added).  If payment has already been made in full, your unit will receive a refund. If your unit didn’t receive the email, contact Dylan at 937-278-4285 or dylan.melling@scouting.org. Also contact Dylan if you had a Scout transfer to another unit, i.e., Webelos to Scout BSA.

How do I update my registration?
If you provided a form of payment - either check, credit card, or mail in option - you should have received an email confirmation which provides information on how to view your registration.

If you closed out without including a form of payment, contact Lori Metivier at lori.metivier@wright.edu or 937-602-9856 to obtain your registration number.

Will food be provided with registration?
Food is not included in the price of registration for regular participants. Units should
plan their own meals or bring money for Food Trucks that will be there on Saturday
only. Food will be provided on Saturday for those registered as staff ($25 registration fee).

FAQ's

Who should attend the camporee?
The camporee is open to all registered Scouting youth and adults, and their families. Paid adults and youth five (5) years and older can participate in age-appropriate activities.

What can I expect to do at the camporee?
Overnight camping is available to registered units/families for Friday and/or Saturday evening. There will be STEM activities, water activities, Scouting Midway, stage show on Saturday, Food Trucks on Saturday, and Scouting competitions. Follow the event on the MVC Facebook page to receive updated information.

How do I register my unit?
All registrations must be made online through the Council website. The link can be found on the Council homepage or on the Council calendar for May 3-5, 2019, or https://scoutingevent.com/444-100th.

What does registration include?
Registration through April 3, 2019 includes overnight camping (one or two nights), 100 th Anniversary Camporee Patch, T-shirt (2XL-4XL additional cost), and a wristband to access all activities and events.

Activities/events are restricted to paying youth and adults; some activities/events may be restricted to certain ages, based on the Guide to Safe Scouting.

Can I come just the day of the events?
Yes, you can register for a Saturday only option. Pricing is the same whether you camp or not.

When does registration end?
Early price pre-registration ends 11:59pm February 28, 2019
Regular price pre-registration ends 11:59pm April 3, 2019

When is payment due?
No payment is due until April 3, 2019. However, Early discount pricing will be applied if paid in full by 11:59 PM Thursday, February 28, 2019. Pre-registrations not paid in full by February 28, 2019 will pay the Regular price of $35 Youth/ $25 Adults. Leaders of Scouts who sold $850 in popcorn will receive a coupon code to enter when registering that Scout. Contact Dylan Melling in the Scout Office if you did not receive a code for a Scout.

Why should I register early?
The earlier you register, the greater the opportunities! First, the sooner you register, the closer your campsite will be to the events and activities.
Second, if you register before December 31, there will be a drawing for one pre-registered unit in each district to receive a limited edition 100 th Anniversary Council Shoulder Patch for every member registered.
Third, you save money per person!

Is there a price break for new Scouts after February 28?
Yes, contact Patrick Higgins in the Scout Office to help register new Scouts at the Early price.

How large is each campsite?
Minimum site size is 50'x50' (~30 people); depending on size of unit, they would be assigned multiple sites per 30 people.

Will water be available for campsites?
Yes

Are campfires permitted?
Only propane cook stoves and heaters are permitted. No above or ground fires are permitted. Do not bring in any wood to the park.
