2017 Unit Rechartering
All units (packs, troops, teams, crews, posts) are required to renew their affiliation with Scouting each year. Through the process, chartering (sponsoring) organizations, youth member and adult leader information is updated as well as registration fees and Boy's Life subscriptions are collected/paid.
A representative of each unit can now complete the paperwork for renewing a charter online. With Online Rechartering, you can indicate returning members, add new members, and update information for an individual or the chartered organization.
Youth protection training is required for ALL registered adult leaders listed on your recharter. Leaders that need to complete YPT should visit My.Scouting.org to complete Youth Protection Training prior to rechartering.
Each unit must select an adult to be its renewal processor and a single login/password is provided.
Recharter Deadline is November 30th 2016.
For questions please call your district executive/director.
Fees for All Units:
- Registration - $24 per youth and adult.
- Registration Insurance - $2 per registration
- Boys Life - $12 per subscription
- Unit Liability Fee - $40.00 per unit

Unit Recharter Process - District Charter Turn-In Days
Unit Charter Turn-In Opportunities
At unit charter day unit commissioners will be present to review your final paperwork and provide you with a final payment due amount. Unit charter day is not a day to learn about the recharter process. Please contact your Unit Commissioner or District Commissioner in advance of unit charter day if you have questions or need assistance completing the charter. At any step in the process you can e-mail recharter@MiamiValleyBSA.org and ask a question.
Please do not turn your charter in at the Council Service Center. All charters should be turned in through a district Unit Charter Day. Only defective charters and late charters can be turned in at the Council Service Center after November 30th.
With multiple opportunities for charters to be completed we know that you will be able to finish your charter by the November 30th deadline. Volunteers and staff stand ready to help you complete your charter, just let us know what we can do.
