Summer Employment Opportunities

Working at Woodland Trails

We pride ourselves on the dedication and spirit our staff has in all of our programs and activities. We believe in complete customer service to all of the troops and packs that visit us each summer. If you are dynamic, hard working, and dedicated to the scouting program and values, we want you to work for us this summer!

Staff members must be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America (don't worry if you're not - we can help!) and at least 15 years old. Certain supervisory positions require the applicant to be at least 18 or 21 years of age, please read the application thoroughly to make sure you are eligible. We welcome counselors-in-traing (CITs) to join us each summer to learn what working at Woodland Trails is all about - they must be at least 14 years old and are not paid, but do receive complimentary room and board. CITs are hired on a weekly basis, and may be invited to return for additional sessions.

The Miami Valley Council, BSA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Counselor in Training (CIT) Program

Fourteen-year-old Scouts are eligible to participate in a three week CIT program. Scouts join the staff during staff week and receive leadership development training prior to camp sessions.  The CIT then participates in a 2 week rotation through all areas of camp to obtain hands on experience to determine the best fit for both camp and the CIT.  CITs will be evaluated at the end of the 2 week rotation and may be offered the opportunity to stay on for the rest of the summer in a single camp area as an instructor’s assistant.  Scouts completing the CIT program will be given special consideration for employment on camp staff the following year.
